Hi! I am Clara-Luz, I am currently an art teacher as well as a practicing artist. I grew up in a small arts community in New London Connecticut. Art has always been a passion of mine, I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil, and haven’t stopped since.
I was raised by a single mother of 4 and I have her to thank for always pushing me to do my best. Throughout my high school years, I decided that art was something I wanted to pursue. After many inspirational teachers who uplifted my art, and provided access to opportunities I decided to pursue the arts. Talking about art and engaging others in art has always been a passion of mine so I decided I wanted to share it with others.
My art has always been an outlet for me. I use it to process emotions, memories, and trauma. I really enjoy the ritual of making whether than is through clay, cardboard or paint I love to get lost in my Medium and its process. It is really meditative for me.
