I collaborated with Ceramics Teacher Janna DeWan and eventually took over as the lead teacher. I executed the lesson plans I developed, managed materials, and graded student work. I incorporated mindful moments into my lessons to help my students focus while they worked. Throughout my time there, I put an emphasis on meaning-making, creating a sculpture lesson on social justice.

Windham High School

Visiting Artist - Teacher

November 2023, Portland, Maine

In collaboration with my MAT cohort, I gave students an exhibition tour at the ICA at MECA&D. We built minilessons into the tour to help students gain a broader understanding of the exhibition. Following the exhibition, we guided students into making sculptures that reflected the artwork they saw in it.

I was a visiting teacher along with two colleagues. We taught art lessons to the first graders in their after-school program. These lessons focused on motor skills and artistic expression. Each lesson had motor breaks built in, movement activities, and call-and-responses activities.
